Drake responded to accusations of “fake abs” and a surgically enhanced butt.

During a Tuesday, September 2, appearance on the “Not This Again with Bobbi Althoff” podcast, the rapper, 38, addressed both rumors individually when quizzed by Althoff, 28.

Addressing his abdominals, which were put under the microscope by social media users in June after Drake shared a shirtless mirror selfie, first, the “Know Yourself” hitmaker said that while he did not have “a procedure done” he was sure that ab surgery “was a thing.”

Without missing a beat, Althoff asked, “Why do you know that?” to which Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, said uncertainly, “Because people do it all the time.”

He then raised fan speculation regarding his butt, specifically rumors of potential Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery sparked by a 2024 diss track titled “BBL Drizzy” by Metro Boomin. “People also say I got a BBL. They call me BBL Drizzy,” Drake said. “I don’t know if my wagon looked crazy when I walked in. Did it?” (The track is widely believed to be a response to Drake’s seeming diss against Metro Boomin on his own 2024 track “Family Matters.”)

Althoff admitted in response that she didn’t “look” at Drake’s body when he entered the podcast’s filming. “So then, like, if it didn’t stand out to you,” Drake concluded before steering the conversation back to his abs and the shirtless selfie he posted.

“I’d come from the gym, I was sweaty in that pic, maybe I went on Facetune and, like, put details up. Just being honest,” Drake explained. “Maybe I, like, heightened the saturation. I think I hit it too hard. I hit it too hard. They don’t look like that.”

Fans shared their disbelief in the comments section of the controversial selfie, which was part of a carousel of images posted by Drake. One fan wrote, “Ordered abs from temu n forgot to add shoulders n tri lol,” while another commented, “People laughing but don’t know chest and shoulders are arriving in a different box in 2 weeks.”

The candid interview went live less than one week after Drake was seen opening up about working on the Canadian teen drama series Degrassi before his music career took off.

In a Wednesday, August 27, trailer for the documentary Whatever It Takes, footage of Drake sharing an onscreen kiss with Lauren Collins, who played Paige on the show, was shown. (Drake starred as Jimmy Brooks from 2001 to 2008.)

“She had to be one of my first kisses for sure,” Drake was heard saying after the footage rolled. “Damn, I never thought about it like that.”
