Golden State Warriors star power forward Draymond Green shared his opinion on the Greatest of All Time debate, choosing between the consensus top two choices: Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

The GOAT conversations happen regularly, especially during the offseason when there is no basketball to analyze, and there are two names typically involved.

While several great players often receive an honorable mention, it eventually comes down to either James or Jordan for the greatest honor in basketball.

During an appearance on influencer Kai Cenat’s stream, Green offered his take on the age-old debate.

“People threw the towel in on JR [Smith] and LeBron’s like, ‘Nah, this man can shoot and he can defend. I can do sprinting with that.’ I don’t think MJ had as many guys who went through that,” Green said on the stream.

“[Matthew Dellavedova] stinks. He’ll win with guys like that. To win with guys like that? MJ wasn’t winning with Matthew Dellavedova,” Green explained.

“Steve Kerr’s probably one of Jordan’s worst teammates, and Steve Kerr was a damn good NBA player who played for 14 years,” Green noted.

“For someone who contributed to the Bulls, his past was worse than anyone,” Green said. “Steve’s path was dogs—, he just had to figure it out. Jordan ain’t have those types of teammates.”

Draymond Green’s History with LeBron James

Green and James are no strangers. They both clashed for multiple consecutive seasons in the NBA Finals on opposing teams.

James led his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers against the Warriors, powered by the trio of Draymond Green, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson, and later on, Kevin Durant.

Green witnessed the “King” beating the Warriors in 2016 against all odds, capturing his only title with the Cavs — finally completing his arc as a kid who grew up in Akron, Ohio.

The former Michigan State product guarded the former Cavs great, feeling his physical gifts up close, and dealing with the puzzle presented by James as a playmaker, scorer, and defender.

The Warriors forward’s anecdotal evidence likely plays a role in his pick for the GOAT, but there is another connection tying Green to James.

Green is signed to Klutch Sports, the agency run by James’s longtime pal Rich Paul.

Any comments from the former Defensive Player of the Year going against James in the debate could lead to some uncomfortable events at Klutch Sports.
