Though Cameron Boozer is expected to leave Duke to become a top-five pick in the 2026 NBA draft, his brother Cayden isn’t taking the same course.

Cameron, a five-star freshman who averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, earning National College Player of the Year, first-team All-American, and first-team All-ACC honors in addition to being named the ACC Player of the Year, NABC Freshman of the Year, ACC Rookie of the Year.

He’s expected to go anywhere in the top three picks of the NBA draft, which is why no one is surprised he’s one-and-done as a Blue Devil. But Cayden, on the other hand, still has more to prove.

A fellow five-star freshman, Cayden, a McDonald’s All-American coming out of high school, played a much more limited role than his brother, averaging 7.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game.

But Blue Devil fans should expect to see him in a much bigger capacity next season after Duke announced that Cayden was returning in 2026 for his sophomore season.

“Year 2️⃣ loading 👿,” the Duke men’s basketball team posted on X with a photo of Cayden that simply says “Back.”

With Cayden’s return, Duke should be loaded with talent to make another run to at least the Final Four — and possibly beyond.

The Blue Devils’ incoming recruiting class is one of the best in the nation featuring five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr., five-star power forward Cameron Williams, five-star small forward Bryson Howard, and our-star center Maxime Meyer.
