Evan Mobley has won a Defensive Player of the Year Award.

When he puts on a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey, he’s supposed to be a game-changer for the squad.

The big man is paid $53 million to disrupt the paint and be a main contributor to a team trying to make it to the Eastern Conference finals.

On Thursday, in a loss to the Detroit Pistons to put Cleveland down into a 2-0 hole in their Eastern semifinal seven-game series, Mobley grabbed one rebound.

No, not a lone rebound in a quarter. Or at halftime.

And he didn’t injure himself.

In 36 minutes of play, Mobley grabbed a single rebound, which was fewer than seven players on his own team. Dennis Schroder, at 6-foot-1, who only played 20 minutes off the bench, grabbed three rebounds for the Cavaliers.

Mobley, who is nearly 7 feet tall again, had one rebound.

His offense also didn’t make up for his lack of production around the basket; the former USC Trojan put up only 9 points on 4 shots in the loss to the Pistons.

Online, though, Mobley is facing harsher attacks than even the Pistons could deploy in-game.
