Heidi Montag is anything but superficial about her health — even if she’s not always quite as well-rested as she’d like.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that, f being a mom, I’m just gonna be exhausted,” she admitted to The Post.

But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t do her best to eat healthy, work out and take care of herself. The 38-year-old reality star told us the health habits she lives by, from her exercise routine — which has changed a bit since the LA wildfires — to her trick for keeping her energy levels up.

Keep it all in balance — and don’t forget probiotics.

“I think that eating healthy is the number one priority, because if you eat healthy, there’s less pressure for getting in the gym,” Heidi said.

The mother of two isn’t a devotee to any particular diet trend, but instead focuses on maintaining balance. She makes sure to have protein with every meal, healthy fats, vegetables and fruit. Some of her go-to foods are hard-boiled eggs, avocados and bananas.

“But with kids around, it’s really challenging!” she admitted. “I’ll always sneak a bite of the cake or mac and cheese. It’s like, all these kids’ foods are so good.”

Probiotics are also a big priority for gut health, so she incorporates things like yogurt and fermented pickles into her meal plan.

“I noticed that my body functions better with it. So I have yogurt every single day,” she said.

Don’t overthink it — quick and easy is key.

That whole “having kids around” thing is certainly tricky, with Heidi sometimes making separate food for Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2-and-a-half.

But she’s happy to have a go-to meal in common with one of her kids.

“My son’s favorite food is meat and rice, and he loves that, so I eat that with him,” she said. “I just have less amounts of rice.

“I also want to eat whatever’s fast and easy because they all eat in five seconds and are running around screaming. So I just kind of eat on the go. I don’t want to spend too much time. I also don’t want to clean anything else!”

Rule #3: Snag a pre-gym energy boost.

Here’s where she deals with that mom exhaustion: Heidi recently teamed up with supplement brand Ryde: on a funny new campaign that shows the benefits of their Energize, Focus and Relax shots. (The campaign includes Heidi having a disastrous goat yoga session and singing about wanting to “zap her t–ts.”)

“I definitely have my Ryde: energy drink, because you can’t work out without a little boost,” Heidi gushed.

“Sometimes it’s hard to get in the gym, and I’ll just set a time, like an appointment,” she added.

Her routine includes a combination of treadmill and VersaClimber for about a half hour, followed by lifting heavy weights.

“I love working out. I love lifting weights. If I could do it every day, I would,” she said.

She also loves her SquatMax, which has been “life-changing” for eliminating lower back pain when she lifts heavy.

But working out has been tough since January, when the home she shared with husband Spencer Pratt burned down in LA’s Palisades Fire.

“Ever since the fires, I don’t have the bandwidth that I used to, and I just have to cut so many things out to be able to focus and prioritize.”

“We lost all of our home gym and weights and everything that we accumulated during the pandemic,” she said. “I haven’t lifted heavy weights since.”

In fact, she thinks she’s only truly worked out — not including dance rehearsals — two times since the fires.

“But every day, I’m like, ‘OK, I’m gonna get in there!’” she said. “I have dance rehearsal, but it’s definitely different than being in your gym, watching your show, listening to your music, or whatever it is, and having that time. So for me, it’s really sacred to work out, and it’s fun.”

Rule #4: Focus on strength, not weight.

Heidi’s not worrying so much about the number on the scale when it comes to her workouts.

“It’s like putting money in the bank, you know?” she said. “I’m working towards a goal, and I try not to focus on a weight because it fluctuates — and sometimes I look better with more weight and sometimes less.

“I just want to be strong, and that’s my goal, and not weight-focused.”

Plus, she’s a big fan of how she feels when she’s put in time at the gym — and the “me time” she can enjoy while she’s there.

“I love the endorphins going. I love having that time where I feel like I’m taking that time for myself and I can watch whatever I want. I think it’s the only time of day I can watch whatever I want,” she said.

Bonus rule: Need some rest? Get some rest.

Workout out is great and all, but sometimes what your body needs most is downtime. In fact, several experts say you’re better off sleeping in than cutting your sleep short to squeeze in an early-morning workout.

“My number one priority at this point is rest, especially doing so much traveling, so much performing — I want to make sure that I am rested,” Heidi said. “And if I need that, that’s often why I don’t go to gym.”

She tries not to put too much pressure on herself these days.

“I just feel like ever since the fires, I don’t have the bandwidth that I used to, and I just have to cut so many things out to be able to focus and prioritize,” she said.

“I had a lot of time to mentally work through that kind of loss and survival and how to move forward… and right now I’m just like, in hustle work mode as well.

“So I’m just so on-the-go right now that I’ll prioritize rest when I can, but I just don’t want to stress myself out. Stress is such a killer, and I’m just gonna applaud myself for what I can do when I can do it.

“In general, in life, not everyone can go to the gym every day. People are working, people are taking care of children. So whenever you can get those wins, it’s great, and if not, you’re doing great.”
