This dad was anything but trigger-happy.

A horrified father found a naked man in his 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom — and chased him out with a gun while firing off warning shots as the scoundrel made his escape, according to police.

Parker D. Kramer, 20, was busted on a variety of charges including rape and sodomy, after getting caught in the teen’s Kentucky home and then trying to high-tail it out as the dad blasted shots into the ground of his front lawn.

“That was dad’s way of saying I am armed,” Major Phillip Ridgell, spokesman for the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, said. “If you didn’t notice, I am armed. In case you’re thinking about coming back.”

Shortly after midnight Monday morning the father heard noises coming from his daughter’s bedroom, Ridgell said.

When the father went to investigate, he found Kramer naked on the floor, Ridgell said.

The two got into two shoving matches, Ridgell said. First at the downstairs landing, then at the front door.

Kramer went back upstairs for some unknown reason and that’s when the father went to retrieve his gun.

He fired three shots “into the ground,” according to police, as Kramer made his escape.

The irate father called 911 to report the incident.

When police arrived, they found Kramer’s car parked nearby. Investigators showed a picture of Kramer to the father and he identified him as the same man he found naked on the floor of his daughter’s bedroom.

Police began scouring the area for the naked suspect. After a two-hour manhunt, it was a machine that finally caught up to Kramer. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department drone found Kramer pantsless at Mt. Zion Road and I-75 and arrested him on burglary charges.

Ridgell said that Kramer and the victim did not meet through any solicitation online. Kramer has family ties to the region and the two met in person two weeks ago. They struck up a conversation and exchanged phone numbers. Kramer and the victims exchanged texts and set up a meeting, he said.

Due to the nature of the crime, authorities did not release the name of the father to protect his daughter’s identity.

The victim was shocked when detectives told her that Kramer was 20, Ridgell said. She told cops that Kramer had said he was 15.

Kramer’s story was that she told the victim he was 20 but that she insisted she was 18.

“She didn’t believe he was 20,” Ridgell said. “She demanded to know how we knew he was 20.”

This case made even a seasoned investigator like Ridgell do a double take when he saw the citation come in.

“This is a wild one,” he said.

Kramer is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on May 5 where the judge will decide whether to send the case to a grand jury for the commonwealth. Kramer indicated at his arraignment that he would be hiring private counsel, but that lawyer could not be immediately reached for comment.
