The Chicago Bears are set to play their second preseason game of the 2025 season on Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. ET. Caleb Williams will be seeing his first game action of his second professional campaign.
Williams has been one of the main topics of discussions around the NFL. In training camp, he has had some rough moments and concern has been starting to rise within the Bears’ fan base.
Despite the concerns, Williams is the face of the franchise. Chicago has gone all-in on building around him.
For too long, the Bears have not had luck at the quarterback position. When they drafted Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, they were hoping that would change.
Raiders Linked to Dynamic Potential Geno Smith Replacement
It’s too early to know what Williams can become. He showed flashes of superstar potential as a rookie, but there were also some moments that left fans wondering.
With that being said, a former Chicago quarterback has spoken out with major advice for Williams.
Mitchell Trubisky, who is currently a backup quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, sent a message to Williams. His advice is to simply enjoy the moment.
“I would say enjoy it, really take it all in. I only had it for four years, I wish I had it longer to be honest,” Trubisky said. “Take it in, enjoy the process. All eyes are on you in this city but it’s really a privilege and there is a lot of pressure that comes with that.”
That is the best advice Williams could receive. Amidst all of the pressure he is facing, finding joy in the game of football is a major key. Simply having fun on the field will help him relieve the pressure that is on him each and every week.
During his rookie season last year, Williams played in all 17 regular season games. He completed 62.5 percent of his pass attempts for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Also, the 23-year-old quarterback ran for 489 yards on 81 attempts.

There is no denying the talent that Williams possesses. He has the potential to become a legitimate NFL superstar.
Hopefully, he is able to realize that potential during the 2025 season and live up to the hype he has been receiving. If he can do that, the Bears will be in a very good situation moving forward.
