It’s tennis for ballers.
High-rollers in the city for the US Open are dishing out small fortunes at luxury hotels and coughing up thousands on tournament-themed packages — with wild amenities like chauffeurs, private penthouse tennis courts and crystal-netted ping pong tables.
At the Upper East Side’s The Mark Hotel – home of the viral $75,000 per night penthouse suite – tennis lovers can expect a private rooftop “mini” tennis court, branded tennis hat and ball set welcome gifts, a $45 Augustinus Bader lip balm and a $55 daily breakfast credit for two, all starting at a cool $1,770 per night.
The package also includes “priority access” to exclusive US Open tickets – but if you want to pull the trigger on purchasing the coveted tickets and round-trip transportation, that’ll cost extra.
Some packages, like the Game Set Stay experience at Central Park’s The Fifth Hotel, have already seen a “surge” in bookings compared to previous years, said Elizabeth Mullins, managing director of The Fifth Avenue Hotel.
Mulling told The Post that surge can be attributed to its newly-minted status as a hot-ticket socialite event.
“Tennis is having a big moment and committed US Open fans seek more than just the matches — they want to be fully immersed in the energy and culture that surround the tournament,” Mullins said, adding the “personalized hospitality, thoughtful touches, and curated programming” of luxury packages offer the chance to celebrate the US Open “as both a sporting event and a quintessential New York experience.”
The Fifth’s all-in packages start at $1,100 per night with round-trip chauffeur airport transportation. The packages also come with custom welcome gifts like a branded baseball cap, tennis ball set and pre-made Honey Deuce upon arrival.
Hotel guests can coordinate helicopter transfers to LaGuardia Airport with the luxury hotel’s concierge team or, instead of watching a match in the summer sun, stay inside the hotel for an “exclusive live-streaming party” in partnership with Seaport Racquet Club.
To Mullins, it’s a perfect example of the “experiential travel” trend that’s courting both city dwellers and visitors.
“For New Yorkers especially, it’s the perfect way to blend the excitement of the US Open with the comfort and curated experiences of The Fifth,” she said. “Today’s travelers want more than just a place to sleep—they’re looking for an immersive experience.”
Elsewhere, at Midtown’s Lotte New York Palace, tennis fans can score a two-night suite stay, a bottle of Moët & Chandon, two Palace Invitational pickleball seats and a 14-karat white gold diamond tennis bracelet as part of the “Game Set Sparkle” offering, starting at $3,395 per night.
The Equinox Hotel New York is offering Blade rides from the private helicopter services’ Blade Lounge West and, from LaGuardia Airport, SUV trips to the tournament’s VIP entrance.
And in place of courtside seats, the Baccarat Hotel New York – where rooms start at $1,795 per night this week – is offering a $225 per person tasting menu with an adjacent crystal-netted ping pong table salon.
Dubbed the Crystal Courtside dining experience, the dining and cocktail program consists of fried chicken and caviar, grilled cheese with shaved truffles, mini lobster rolls and New York cheesecake from now until Sept. 8.
New Yorkers unwilling to drop thousands on a tennis-themed staycation can still dabble in the luxury lifestyle for a day at the likes of the The Lowell Hotel with a limited-time US Open menu.
The boutique Upper East Side hotel is offering a limited-time $38 Grand Slam Club (rotisserie chicken and smoked duck with lettuce, tomatoes and avocado aioli) and $27 cocktails Bleu de Majorelle (vodka, gin, blue curacao and lemon juice) and Goutte de Critron (vodka, lemon juice and orange liqueur).
Buzzy cocktail spots from The Fifth Hotel’s Portrait Bar to Williamsburg’s Wythe Hotel to Fouquet’s New York are also offering takes aplenty on the Honey Deuce until the tournament wraps.
