Homicide squad police are investigating after a woman in her 40s was found dead in a home near Geraldton on Friday evening.
Police said emergency services were called to a home on Melbourne Street in Waggrakine, north of Geraldton, at about 6.25pm.

They had received reports that a serious assault had occurred there.
WA Police and St John Ambulance paramedics found the woman inside with serious injuries that she later died from.
A 21-year-old man who police say is known to the woman, was located near the scene and taken into custody.
A WA Police spokesperson said he was currently assisting them with their inquiries.
“The investigation remains ongoing at this time,” they said.
