Out of all the titles Rihanna holds, she may just shine brightest as a mom.
“You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” the Grammy winner told British Vogue in February 2023 of becoming a mother. “You literally try to remember it — and there are photos of my life before — but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far … because it doesn’t matter.”
In May 2022, Rihanna’s life changed forever when she welcomed her first baby with ASAP Rocky. Since then, the couple has expanded their family twice with the arrival of their second son in August 2023 and a daughter in September 2025.

RZA Athelston
In May 2022, Rihanna became a mom when she gave birth to her first son.
“I’m living for my son. Everything matters now. You really start to take a lot into account,” Rihanna said during a February 2023 appearance on the “Process with Nate Burleson” podcast. “Skydiving?! You really think about stuff like that — it’s not worth it. Everything is different.”
Rocky and Rihanna’s eldest son was named after RZA (pronounced “Rizza”), who is a producer, rapper and de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
Rocky confirmed the name and its origins in a since-deleted Instagram post celebrating RZA’s first birthday.
“[It’s] a great honor to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name,” RZA, whose real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, told CNN in July 2023. “RZA isn’t only a name, it’s a title. So it’s an honor and I salute her and ASAP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”
Riot Rose
In August 2023, Rihanna and Rocky expanded their family with the arrival of their second son.
Rihanna revealed that Pharrell Williams picked out Riot’s name after collaborating on Rocky’s 2023 track, “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n).”
“He gave us this name thinking it was going to be a girl, because he had seen something online,” the singer recalled in a February 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
Although Riot is a boy, he quickly proved his personality fits his name perfectly.
“When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream,” Rihanna added. “Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing. And I’m like, ‘OK, here we go!’ He’s my alarm in the morning! He’s not taking no for an answer from anyone.”
Rocki Irish
On September 13, 2025, Rihanna and Rocky welcomed their third baby together, their first girl.
“Rocki Irish Mayers 🎀,” Rihanna wrote via Instagram less than two weeks after giving birth.
While Rocky has yet to confirm the official meaning of Rocki’s name, fans started speculating that Rocki is an homage to her dad’s stage name.
In her Instagram post announcing Rocki’s birth, Rihanna also shared a photo of tiny pink boxing gloves, seemingly nodding to the character Rocky Balboa from Rocky. Rocky later commented, “MY LIL LADIES ❤️.”
