“Storage Wars” is reportedly preparing a tribute to former cast member Darrell Sheets following his death at age 67.
According to reports from TMZ on Thursday, April 23, A&E plans to honor Sheets with an in-memoriam card during Saturday night’s new episode, which is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The network is also expected to air a marathon of past episodes featuring Sheets before the new ep, which contains some of his most memorable moments from Seasons 1 through 15.
Sheets became one of the franchise’s most recognizable personalities after joining the show in 2010. Known for his bold personality and sharp bidding instincts, he remained part of the series through 2023.
Authorities in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, confirmed that Sheets was found dead at his home on Wednesday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The tragedy has understandably sparked an outpouring of emotion from fans and former co-stars.
Brandi Passante shared a heartfelt message online, writing that she was “at a loss for words.” She also revealed that she had “unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations,” while encouraging anyone struggling to seek help and remember they are not alone.
Fellow cast member Rene Nezhoda also addressed the loss, claiming in a video that Sheets had recently dealt with intense online harassment.
In years past, Sheets himself had spoken candidly about depression. In a 2018 social media post, he wrote, “Depression is the Devil’s way of attacking us.” He continued, “It knows no mercy, it takes our smiles, it comes and goes, it ruins our relationships, it takes away our happiness.”
