Queensland Police say they are still searching for “multiple items of interest” after human remains found in bushland were formally identified as those of Pheobe Bishop.

The 17-year-old was last seen alive on May 15 in Bundaberg. She failed to board a connecting flight to Brisbane that day, ahead of a planned trip to Western Australia.

Her housemates in the small nearby town of Gin Gin – James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33 – have since been charged with her murder.

Human remains were discovered during a search near Good Night Scrub National Park on June 6, but were not formally identified at the time.

Officers confirmed on Tuesday afternoon they belonged to Bishop.

“Investigations into locating more items of interest in relation to this matter remain ongoing,” police said in a statement.
