A man who told police his wife died in a mower accident on a rural Queensland property has been arrested after detectives last week appealed to women across the world to come forward with information about him.

Emergency services found Frances Elizabeth Crawford at the bottom of a retaining wall at a property on Thomas Road in the Upper Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane, about 3.30am on July 30.

Her husband, Robert Crawford, made the call to emergency services, and later told police the 49-year-old had been killed by a ride-on mower.

Forensic testing was underway to determine how her body came to be there.

Her death was soon deemed suspicious, with detectives believing she had been killed.

Footage of Mr Crawford’s arrest on Thursday showed him sitting in the back seat of a police car, wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.
