An impatient dog’s way of waking his owners up in the morning has left viewers on TikTok in stitches.

The German shepherd was captured standing on top of his owners, barking loudly at their faces, as they tried to rest in bed in the now-viral video. The moment had been shared to the platform on August 20, and has drawn more than 234,000 views to date, sparking laughter in the comments section.

Viewers were able to see the German shepherd, named Ranger, struggling to contain his excitement about getting his owners up to start the day.

The canine was filmed barking and whining incessantly while balancing himself on his owner’s knees. The moment played against a lighthearted audio, adding to the comedic timing of the morning routine that so many dog owners know all too well.

The relatable moment has led to more than 230 comments from amused viewers. While most poked fun at the footage, several shared how similarly their own pets act when they are eager to get their owners up and, as a result, their breakfasts in their bowls.

“He has a long day planned and wants to get started,” one viewer said.

“All that just to go to the bathroom and lay like this right after,” another added, sharing an image of their own dog sleeping in a crate after demanding they wake up, too.

“He’s just hungry that’s how mine gets in the morning,” a third viewer shared.

“Why they are all like this,” one comment said. “It’s literally same here with this 4-years-old boy,” they added, attaching an image of their own pet.

“German shepherds are the most talkative breed,” another added.

“Mine does the exact same thing! only to go back to sleep 30 minutes later,” a different viewer said.

“He’s quite the drill sergeant,” another commented. “And that is not your home, it’s his military base! Adorable though.”
