Influencer Lindsay Dewey is aware of how lucky she and husband Eric Dewey are to still be married after their son Reed’s death in February.

“Looks like we made it. These lyrics hit home for different reasons,” Lindsay, 31, wrote via Instagram on Friday, November 7, sharing a series of pictures with her spouse, 38.

“A lot of marriages crumble after enduring child loss,” she continued. “It’s something that you hear about from time to time and it’s devastating.”

Lindsay acknowledged that Reed’s death did shatter their family, but she and Eric have fought to remain together and raise their other two children, daughter Breegan, 6, and son Hunter, 4.

“God has granted us both mercy and grace to get through this hurdle that life has brought upon us,” she continued. “Though we handle our grief differently, and sometimes separately, I’m still so grateful to have him by my side.”

Lindsay concluded, “If there were no love, there would be no grief … and though it breaks us, it is also the greatest reminder that we were lucky enough to love someone worth missing forever.”

Lindsay revealed in February that her and Eric’s youngest child, Reed, suffered a “traumatic accident” after an unsecured mirror fell on top of him, adding that their family needed a “miracle.”

Days later, Lindsay announced that Reed “did not receive his earthly miracle” and died at 22 months.

“We are beyond shattered. But I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for getting to be his mama for 22 months,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “All he knew was love. And all he gave was love. Truly. And those who are close to us, can attest to that.”

Lindsay revealed that her family was “robbed of watching our wild and fun little boy grow up,” adding that it was “not fair” that Reed died so young.

“Our lives changed in a matter of 10 seconds. And we’re truly still in shock,” she wrote, sharing that Reed’s organs were donated to help “save some sick babies.”

Lindsay confessed, “We have so many questions and emotions and our lives are forever changed. But Eric and I are strong and we will get through this.”

Two months later, Lindsay and Eric celebrated Reed’s second birthday as a way to honor his memory.

“We gathered together to honor and remember the perfect and precious little boy he was. Yesterday was everything I wanted and more,” Lindsay wrote via Instagram in April, sharing photos of the party.

The following month, Lindsay — a parenting influencer who shares home renovation tips pegged to her family’s Airbnb properties — and Eric toasted to seven years of marriage.

“Highest of highs, lowest of lows … I’m certain that if we can get through something like the loss of a child, we can get through anything life throws at us,” Lindsay wrote in a May Instagram tribute to her spouse. “Tragedy tends to tear people + marriages apart. We refuse to become another statistic.”

Although their lives will never be the same, Lindsay said she is “dang proud” of her and Eric’s resilience over the past few months.

She called them “the greatest team,” while sharing pictures from their first family photo shoot in November “without our missing piece.”

“How we wish we didn’t just have a picture of him, but that we had HIM with us. He would’ve been joining in on the chaos that is family pictures,” Lindsay wrote of Reed on November 4. “He would’ve been jumping in the river, and throwing things into it … being the wild little boy that he was.”

She lamented, “We got through it, Reedy boy. Unfortunately the first of many. Maybe it was you AND God who got me through it. Knowing that you’re home is the only thing that allows any type of peace to exist within me. I love and miss you, my little boy. We all do.”
