Ivanka Trump avoided politics in a long post she penned about “life’s lessons”, as her dad Donald Trump prepares to go up against Kamala Harris in the US election.

The businesswoman turned 43 on October 30 and hours before the election she posted a list of some of the things she’s learned over the years on X and Instagram.

Sharing a photo of herself in front of a birthday cake, she highlighted the importance of forgiveness, avoiding gossip and trusting yourself.

While she talked about how “family and friends are everything” she didn’t specifically mention her politician dad or his campaign.

Newsweek has emailed representatives for Ivanka Trump for comment.

Ivanka opened her long post by telling fans: “This past week, I turned 43! Reflecting on life’s lessons, here are some truths I’ve learned along the way.”

She went on: “1. Family and friends are everything. Nourish these relationships, check in on them, and let people know you care, even across distances. As Esther Perel says, ‘The quality of your relationships determines the quality of your life.’

“2. Forgive people – it frees you more than anyone else. 3. Everyone was sent to teach you something. Every person you meet holds a mirror to a lesson your soul needs to grow.

“4. Avoid Lashon Hara / Gossip. Choose words that heal, not harm. 5. Trust yourself. Identify your core values and live in alignment with them; this may mean setting firm boundaries for yourself and with others.”

In total she listed 17 lessons and tips, urging people to “nourish” their bodies with “whole, locally grown, nutritious foods”, but to also enjoy the odd indulgence like cake.

Getting sunshine and moving your body daily was also on the list, as she told her followers: “Strong body, strong mind.”

Ivanka, the daughter of Donald and his former wife Ivana, who died in 2022, said people should be “open to the truth, wherever it leads” and that it was also important to “guard your peace” in life.

“Strive for three daily wins: a physical win, a mental win, and a spiritual win,” she wrote.

She said in another life lesson: “Get curious. About your partner, your kids, your friends, and the world around you.”

“Approach people and life with love and positivity,” she said. “Dolly Parton said, ‘I don’t criticize and condemn; I love and accept’.”

Ivanka, who has three children with her husband Jared Kushner, wrapped up her lengthy message by saying: “Here’s to another year of growth, love, and meaningful moments!”
