The polarizing Jake Paul entered the ring on Friday night, live on Netflix, to face former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in what proved to be the toughest fight of his young boxing career.
While Paul held his own early, stretching the eight-round bout and landing some solid overhand shots, Joshua’s relentless forward pressure, consistently backing Paul into the ropes, proved overpowering. Many had anticipated this, as Joshua was was nearly 27 pounds heavier than Paul.
Heading into the sixth round, after absorbing a series of brutal blows, Paul was sent to the ground a decisive left hook from Joshua, resulting in the knockout and marking Paul’s second professional loss.

After the fight, it was evident that Paul had suffered a serious jaw injury, and he later revealed on social media that he actually sustained a double fracture — a clear break in two separate places.
“Broken jaw, guys. Thanks for all the support, I’m ok,” Paul wrote.
Paul landed 16 clean shots over six rounds out of 56 total punches, while Joshua connected on 48 of 146 total punches. The discrepancy was clear, and although a few rounds were close, most judges scored the fight in favor of Joshua, giving him all six rounds.
