Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Oscar-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld have kept their relationship extremely private, save for a few tidbits for subscribers to Steinfeld’s Beau Society newsletter.
They announced their engagement in November 2024 but didn’t make their first public appearance together until Steinfeld supported Allen at NFL Honors in February 2025, where he won his first NFL MVP award. They made their marriage public knowledge on June 17, 2025, but PEOPLE published paparazzi photos showing they’d actually gotten married on May 31, 2025.
Allen and Steinfeld didn’t post about each other again until they jointly announced last December that they were expecting their first child, and their daughter was born sometime this spring. They have not disclosed her name nor her birth date. Steinfeld posted photos of her tiny hand and feet around her first Mother’s Day, but that’s it.
Allen did disclose, however, which of his behaviors annoys his wife the most.
Allen appeared on Eric Wood’s “Centered On Buffalo” podcast last week. Wood asked Allen to name a pet peeve of Steinfeld’s.
“If I’ve got something in my beard or my mustache, and she goes to reach for it, I always, like, bark and snap,” Allen said. “It’s something my dad did. We’d be little kids touching the whiskers on his face, and he’d like [growl]. So, every time I do that, it gets her every single time. I can’t not do it. It’s there for the taking, and I have to take it. So, that’s one thing.”
When asked for something Steinfeld does that’s a pet peeve of his, Allen wisely smiled and said, “Absolutely nothing, Eric.”
Elsewhere in the 21-minute conversation, Allen said he’s still been able to get golf rounds in since welcoming his daughter, but his favorite hobby has taken a back seat.
“I’m just enjoying being a dad right now. It’s awesome,” Allen said. “She’s been great. She’s been sleeping extremely well. But everyone talks about the sleep regression, so until we get there, we won’t know that. We’re enjoying what we got right now.”
