It’s the most wonderful time of the year — especially for doughnut lovers.
In honor of the beloved doughnut chain’s annual “Day of the Dozen,” for today only, customers can snag a dozen original doughnuts for $1.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The only catch is that you must purchase a dozen of any doughnuts or a box of 16-count minis at regular price. But, hey, that’s still a steal in today’s wild economy.
So run, don’t walk, to your nearest Krispy Kreme store or drive-thru to munch on some sweet, reasonably priced treats.
If you don’t live near a Krispy Kreme location or it’s just too cold out for you to make a doughnut run, you can still get the limited-time deal by ordering online using the code “DOZEN” at checkout.
Clearly, the sweet treat chain is doing what it can to keep its customers happy. Last month, Krispy Kreme announced the addition of nine new flavors to its menu — five permanent ones and four new limited-time ones.
The delicious-sounding five flavors here to stay are New York Cheesecake, OREO Cookies and Kreme, Original Glazed Cake, Cinnamon Apple Filled and Original Glazed Kreme Filled Doughnut.
The limited edition ones, which are said to rotate five times a year to offer variety, include Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme, Maple Iced, Chocolate Fudge Brownie Doughnut and Original Glazed Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut.
The flavors were in the development and testing phase for over a year, as explained in the company’s press release, so you know they’re bound to be good.
“We are so excited to introduce nine new flavors to our lineup so everyone can build a dozen that is as unique as they are,” Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme Chief Brand and Product Officer, said in a statement.
“We are bringing more variety, more flavor and most importantly, more choice, and we can’t wait for consumers to show us how they dozen!”
But as one doughnut opens, another sadly closes. The Original Glazed Blueberry Cake, Original Glazed Lemon Filled and Cake Batter flavors all got the boot with the menu change-up.
But no need to panic, doughnut lovers, there is hope that these flavors could return in the near future.
