The WNBA season kicked off Friday, the 16th of May, while Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s season began the following day against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.

All eyes will be on Clark as she enters her second season after a great rookie year. After taking the basketball world by storm with her play at Iowa, people will be watching to see what she does this season.

One such person who will seemingly be watching her closely and cheering her on is NBA superstar and legend LeBron James. James is considered one of the best NBA players of all time, so for the good of the game of basketball and the WNBA, it is nice to see him supporting her.

On Instagram, he posted photos of them posing and hugging with a caption “Good luck and DO YOU per usual this season!!!”

The WNBA is often overshadowed by the NBA, so it is nice to see whenever NBA players support their counterpart league.

Receiving an endorsement from James, especially, should, in theory, bring tons of extra attention to the WNBA and Clark.

Given that James is currently 40 years old compared to Clark, who is 23 years old, he could also serve as a mentor to her, especially given that he also received tons of attention entering the pros after stellar play prior to being drafted.

After losing in the first round of the playoffs last year 2-0, the Fever will be looking to bounce back and improve on that finish, which seems highly likely given the young stars on the roster.

The team also sports college standout Aliyah Boston, who is still just 23 years old as well, and great veterans like Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard, DeWanna Bonner, and Lexie Hull.

The Fever are built like a potential championship contender as long as Clark plays like many people expect her to.

If the Fever has a great season, basketball in Indiana would be at an all-time high. The men’s team just made the Eastern Conference Finals as the fourth seed to face off with the New York Knicks, after knocking off the top-seeded, 64-win Cleveland Cavaliers.

After winning Rookie of the Year last season, Clark still has another level to reach to lead her team to the promised land. That leap could come sooner than later if she has LeBron James in her corner, helping her basketball game both on the court and off the court.
