Could your neighborhood be one of L.A.’s friendliest?

Nextdoor — a private, hyperlocal platform for verified neighbors to connect — released new data suggesting some Los Angeles neighborhoods are friendlier than others, with Trinity & 36th Street in Historic South Central L.A. and Atwater Village topping the “Friendliness Score” list, KTLA5 reported.

“The rankings for the friendliest neighborhoods in Los Angeles are based on how residents actually interact with one another on the Nextdoor platform,” researchers said. “The data captures everything from neighbors helping each other out to how they share resources and build community connections.”

The ranking considers a variety of factors, including the tone of posts (positive or negative), fulfilled neighbor requests for help or recommendations, expressions of neighborhood pride or dissatisfaction, and the number of free items shared in the “For Sale & Free” section.

It also takes into account how welcoming residents are, including responses to welcome posts and neighbors promoting or recommending local businesses.

The neighborhoods of Trinity & 36th Street and Atwater Village received perfect scores of 100.

The Trinity & 36th Street community is described on Nextdoor as “a diverse, urban neighborhood in Los Angeles, known for its historic homes and close-knit community.”

“It’s a vibrant area with a mix of residential and commercial spaces, offering a variety of local shops and eateries,” Nextdoor notes, while describing Atwater Village as “cozy.”

Coming in close behind with a score of 99 was South Del Rey, home to nearly 4,000 residents, described as “a quiet, residential neighborhood. It’s known for its diverse community, proximity to the beach, and easy access to the city’s amenities. It’s a great place for families and professionals alike,” according to Nextdoor.
