Less than 24 hours after making NBA history with his dad LeBron James in recording the league’s first father-son assist in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-99 win over the Brookly Nets, Bronny James went off for the South Bay Lakers in the G League.

In Friday’s win over the Nets, LeBron notched a cool 14 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and a steal in 37 minutes, while Bronny logged just three points in four minutes.

But Saturday’s G League performance was much different for the younger James.

In a high-octane offensive affair, South Bay came out on top 140-132, and Bronny went off with a career performance.

The 21-year-old guard finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and a steal on 9 of 12 shooting from the field and 6 of 8 from 3-point range. In fact, the six made 3-pointers marked a new career high for Bronny in both the G League and the NBA.

Bronny’s breakout night prompted a social media shoutout from his dad.

“Bronny going NUTS right now!!! WOW,” LeBron tweeted during the game in a viral post that garnered 1.8 million views, 37,000 likes, and 1,400 comments in the matter of hours.

Though it wasn’t Bronny’s career best scoring performance — that came in a 39-point outburst in South Bay’s 122-118 win over the anta Cruz Warriors last March — it was enough to make Bronny the top trending topic on X for a few hours on Saturday night.

Also of note, South Bay is now 14-0 when Bronny plays for the team.
