The Detroit Lions are entering the 2025 NFL season with high expectations. After a 15-2 regular season record ended in a loss in the team’s first playoff game, the Lions are ready to get back on the field and prove that they were no fluke.
Aidan Hutchinson missed a huge chunk of last season due to a broken leg that he suffered against the Dallas Cowboys. He’s back to full health and is ready to get back to terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.
With rumors swirling around Cowboys’ superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons, Hutchinson took an opportunity to talk about teaming up with him in Detroit.
During an appearance with Kay Adams on the “Up & Adams” show, Hutchinson revealed his thoughts on potentially teaming up with Parsons on the Lions.
Vikings’ Adam Thielen Sends First Message Since Trade Reunion
“What’d you just say? Micah in a Lions uniform? Is that the rumors going around?” Hutchinson said. “There’s no way. I don’t know, man. I mean it’d be great to play with him, don’t get me wrong. I think he’s going to get his deal. It’d be a dangerous combo if we were together.”
Simply thinking about Hutchinson and Parsons teaming up in Detroit would be a thing of nightmares for quarterbacks around the league. Those two would be nearly impossible for opposing offensive lines to stop.
Adams then dropped a very interesting comment.
“He’s going to go somewhere in the NFC North, and I was curious. You know, you two together would be a pretty in-sync thing,” Adams said.
She backtracked that statement a little bit, saying “no, we don’t know. The story is still unwritten.”
Of course, the recent rumors have been surrounding the Green Bay Packers potentially pulling off a blockbuster trade for Parsons.
Packers’ Potential Micah Parsons Trade Package Surfaces in Blockbuster Idea
Looking at the two players and comparing them, the idea of them teaming up would be wild.
Hutchinson has played in 39 career games, racking up 122 tackles, 28.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and 10 defended passes. Parsons has appeared in 63 games, totaling 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and nine defended passes.
It’s not likely to happen, but it’s fun to think about Hutchinson and Parsons teaming up on the Lions. Hutchinson certainly likes the idea, although he also understands how unlikely it would be.
