Dozens of luxury watches and jewellery worth more than $2.5 million have been seized from the inner Sydney apartment of a man who allegedly impersonated a lawyer while running a property investment scam.
The 51-year-old allegedly defrauded six people between March 2023 and June this year, swindling more than $650,000.
Police raided his apartment on Bayswater Road, Potts Point about 7am on Tuesday, seizing 60 luxury watches and more than 100 pieces of jewellery.
The man allegedly produced false financial and legal documents impersonating a lawyer and financial institutions to deceive his victims.
He is due to face court on Wednesday charged with 14 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, 15 counts of using a false document to obtain financial advantage, and dealing with proceeds of crime.
