Made by Google 2026: Pixel 11 Event Date, Time, How to Watch and What to Expect

The Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro Fold will be unveiled at a Made by Google event on Aug. 12. We’re also expecting to see the Pixel Watch 5 and Pixel 11, too. As we get closer to the keynote, many details about the upcoming announcements have leaked or been teased by Google, but they still don’t tell the whole story. 

Aside from the leaks, there are rumors surrounding the next line of Pixel phones that won’t be confirmed until we hear from Google itself. From higher prices to a potential reduction of RAM in some models, every detail on Google’s device lineup will be revealed next week. 

Here’s what you can expect from the Made by Google event.

New Pixel 11 phones

The primary devices to be showcased at this Made by Google event will be the next generation of Pixel phones, and we already know a fair amount about them. Rumors suggest the only devices to expect are the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 5.

Design-wise, don’t expect the new Pixel family of phones to look much different from their predecessors. Leaked images show largely the same phone design DNA that we’ve seen since the Pixel 9 lineup, with only small tweaks and refinements. Those looking for a more dramatic change to its appearance may have to wait for the Pixel 12. 

We can assume that the new Pixel 11 phones will have boosted internals, like a new Tensor G6 chipset, though we wouldn’t expect it to blow the current Tensor G5 chip out of the water by any means. Interestingly, when Google launched the Pixel 10A earlier this year, the processor wasn’t updated, so it will be curious to see what the company does with its flagship phone lineup. Performance of Google’s homemade chips has lagged behind the competition, especially graphically, but the tech giant’s priority has primarily been to enhance the on-device AI capabilities of its phones, providing as much raw computational power as possible. 

Rumors suggest changes to RAM and storage in the base model. In particular, a rumor reported by DealLabs says that Google is getting rid of the 128GB storage option and making baseline storage 256GB, which would be a welcome change. What’s not so welcome is that we can likely expect all phones in the Pixel 11 lineup to be about $100 more expensive across the board, given the global RAM shortage and other tech giants raising their phone prices, including Samsung.

The only real new feature Google is teasing is a new notification light on the backside of the device. Previously rumored to be named Pixel Glow, the feature is now said to be called HiLight when it debuts, according to the latest leak of a French marketing graphic for the phone. The feature will light up when your favorite contacts are calling or when you’re talking to Gemini when the phone is face down. How much more functionality, if any, HiLight has in store is unknown. 

On the software side, we expect to see more features from Gemini Intelligence that were announced during the Google I/O conference earlier this year. While the latest Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 family of devices ships with the most current agentic AI features, the Pixel phones are always the first devices in line that show off Google’s latest AI advancements, and they’ll certainly be packed to the gills with it. 

All of the Pixel 11 devices will ship with Android 17 out of the box.

Pixel Watch 5

Alongside the Pixel 11 series of phones, we’re also expecting to see the introduction of the Pixel Watch 5. We were impressed with last year’s Pixel Watch 4, so hopefully Google continues down a successful path with the Watch 5. 

At this point, we know very little about the changes to the latest generation of Google’s smartwatch. Based on leaks and rumors, the design remains essentially unchanged since the first Pixel Watch, and that’s a good thing — it’s one of the best watch designs you can find. 

One of our first glimpses of the device allegedly came from someone who found it underwater while scuba diving. Whether this was planned by Google or a complete coincidence, the very strange leak of the new watch certainly looks the same as before. 

We can expect upgraded internals, but exactly how much of a boost the Pixel Watch 5 will get over its predecessor remains to be seen. Rumors suggest that all models of the watch, like the Pixel 11 family, will also see a price increase.

What else could Google announce?

While this Made by Google event is undoubtedly for the Pixel family of phones and the new watch, there’s a chance we could see even more from the tech giant on Aug. 12.

Pixel Tag

To compete with the likes of Apple’s AirTag, Google may introduce its own Bluetooth tracking device, dubbed the Pixel Tag. A leaked image of the device appeared over at 9to5Google, showing a small, oblong tracker that will likely support Google’s Find Hub network. Whether the Pixel Tag will make it to the show remains to be seen, but if it does arrive, we hope that it will support Ultra-Wideband for precision item tracking. 

Android XR glasses

The product certainly won’t carry the Pixel name, but Google’s been talking about XR glasses for some time now, and there’s a possibility we get to hear more about some of the upcoming products. 

We already know that both Warby Parker and Gentle Monster will be among the first brands to release Android XR glasses, which got a reaffirmed fall 2026 release window at the recent Samsung Unpacked event, putting Gemini’s impressive multimodal AI capabilities right in front of your eyes. 

Googlebooks

It would make more sense for Google to have its own event for the upcoming Googlebook line of laptops, but we could still get a sneak peek during next week’s event. 

The Googlebook may end up having the best operating system to go with the next Pixel phones, as they both run Android and should provide a more seamless experience working across each other. It’s no wonder the new laptop line could be the ultimate laptop for Android fans when it arrives. And they should be arriving soon, too. Lenovo recently shared some images of its upcoming Googlebooks, so it’s possible they could make an appearance.
