A man has died outside a shopping centre in Brisbane’s east after being found in the early hours of Sunday with critical injuries.

The man, in his 40s, was seen on Trevally Crescent in Manly West by passers-by, who notified emergency services that the man was critically injured.

Police arrived shortly before 3am and immediately declared the man dead before establishing a crime scene.

A 45-year-old man was helping police with their inquiries about 10.30am, officers said.

Investigations were continuing on Sunday, and police urged anyone with information related to the death to come forward.

Officers also asked the public for any CCTV or dashcam footage of Trevally Crescent, Radford Road and Miles Crescent from midnight to 3am on Sunday, in particular any vision of a person walking on the streets during that three-hour block.
