Friday night travellers have been forced to evacuate a terminal at Melbourne Airport after a suspected fire broke out.
Fire Rescue Victoria and Aviation Firefighting and Rescue Services are responding to reports of a blaze in Terminal 1 at the airport.

“The terminal is being evacuated as a precaution,” a Melbourne Airport spokeswoman said.
“The safety of our passengers and staff is our primary concern. We encourage any Qantas passengers to check with the airline on the status of their flight.”
Travellers took to social media to express their frustration at the time it took for the evacuation procedure to take place.
“It took at least 10 minutes of the alarm going before anyone took action and evacuated guests,” one person wrote.”
People are now waiting outside the building after being asked to move back past security.
