Future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce holds multiple franchise records for the Kansas City Chiefs, but Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis beat Kelce down the aisle this offseason.
PEOPLE exclusively reported on May 11 that Karlaftis and Kaia Harris, his high school sweetheart, got married in Glyfada, Greece, on May 9.
Karlaftis grew up in Greece until he was 13. He played college football at Purdue before the Chiefs drafted him 30th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. Karlaftis, Kelce, and the Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowls the following two seasons.
PEOPLE also reported that Kelce, 36, and Taylor Swift, 36, his fiancée since last August, attended Karlaftis’ wedding.
On Tuesday, new photos of Swift at the wedding circulated on social media:
Kelce and Swift will reportedly get married in New York City on July 3, per Page Six.
Kelce began dating the 14-time Grammy winner after attending her “The Eras Tour” concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in July 2023.
Swift became a game-day fixture, ruling over Chiefs Kingdom from her box suite, while the Chiefs reached back-to-back Super Bowls — beating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII and losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
The Chiefs experienced a hiccup in their dynasty last season, missing the playoffs entirely with a 6-11 record. Two-time NFL MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL in December.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion, refused to go out like that and re-signed with the Chiefs in March. Next season will be his 14th in the league since Kansas City made him a third-round draft pick in 2013.
Last week, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told 96.5 The Fan in Kansas City that he planned to attend Kelce and Swift’s wedding.
“I’m not the show; I’m just gonna show up,” Reid said. “Those guys, I’m so happy for them. When you really come down to it, it doesn’t matter how big the show is around them. They’re in love, and that’s the most important thing.”
