After making her first TV appearance on WWE programming in six years, Nikki Bella already has her sights set on furthering her family’s professional wrestling dynasty.

Bella, 41, returned to WWE Raw on Monday, June 9, where she engaged in a war of words with Liv Morgan. While the segment ended with Bella face down in the middle of the ring, the Hall of Famer exclusively told Us Weekly it still felt “super empowering” to be back.

To make things even more special, Bella’s son Matteo, 4, has recently become quite the wrestling fan himself.

“I’ve been watching Raw, so he’ll sit and watch with me,” Bella said. “It’s funny, because he loves the women’s wrestling. But then all of a sudden he’ll wanna wrestle me and I can see it in him.”

Bella shares Matteo with her ex husband Artem Chigvintsev. The couple finalized their divorce in December 2024.

“Matteo would totally be a high flyer,” Bella said of her son’s wrestling style. “He has a lot of grace and is super athletic. He’s an incredible dancer.”

Bella said she would “totally support” Matteo if he expressed real interest in getting in the sport, especially given the current climate within WWE.

“They really care for their talent,” Bella explained. “It’s just so different. I would fully embrace and love it.”

Bella and her twin sister, Brie Bella, both signed with WWE in June 2007 and were known as the Bella Twins. Both sisters retired from full-time in-ring action in 2019, but have made surprise appearances at various Premium Live Events — like Nikki’s entrance into the 2025 Royal Rumble in February — in the time since.

Brie shares daughter Birdie, 8, and son Buddy, 4, with former WWE superstar and AEW wrestler, Bryan Danielson

According to Nikki, she and her sister have already plotted for their sons to join forces inside the squared circle.

“Brie and I always say if our boys were like the Bella Boys, it would be so cute,” she gushed. “They’re pretty much like twins. I would be in heaven.”

Matteo and Buddy were born just one day apart.

The idea might not be so far-fetched, as Nikki said Buddy is “already on his way to becoming a wrestler.”

“He watches the Royal Rumble, the one I was just in, almost every day,” Nikki said of her nephew. “It is so cute.”

Nikki has already been advertised for next week’s WWE Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin, as the company builds to its second-ever all-women’s Premium Live Event, Evolution, which goes down July 13 in Atlanta.
