In one of the strangest moves in recent history, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct presentation to take place tomorrow, just days before its big Switch 2 Direct.
Nintendo announced on Twitter that it will be holding a Nintendo Direct presentation tomorrow, at 10am EDT. The presentation will be focused on games coming to the Nintendo Switch, and will not feature any information on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The Nintendo Direct will last for about 30 minutes, and it’s expected to focus primarily on third-party titles coming to the console throughout the rest of the year. First-party titles are likely to be present too, though, with a few key games – like Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends Z-A – still relatively light on information and likely to make an appearance.
It’s a curious move, as Nintendo is just days away from a big information blowout on the Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the Nintendo Switch. The new console, officially announced earlier this year, looks to have a similar hybrid form factor to the Nintendo Switch, but further details like the console’s price, release date, and software lineup have not yet been revealed to the public.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct will take place next week, at 9am EDT on April 2, 2025.
