Nintendo has just announced a new Nintendo Direct presentation, the first general Nintendo Direct to be announced since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo made the announcement via the Nintendo Today app, where it confirmed the time and date of the Direct, but gave very few additional details. There are quite a few games likely to show up in the presentation, though, as the year comes to a close and many games have been announced for this year but not dated.

We’ve got what few details are available for the presentation, including how and where to watch the Nintendo Direct presentation, as well as what to expect in the Direct.

September 2025 Nintendo Direct – What to Expect

There are many games set to be released in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 that have not yet been given a release date.

First-party games include Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, which is said to be a canon prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with Dynasty Warriors-style gameplay.

Third-party games are similarly in need of release dates. Elden Ring has been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, but has not yet been properly dated yet, and the same is true of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is another possibility, as it’s also said to be launching this year on Nintendo Switch.

It’s likely that there will be new announcements, both first-party and third-party, and new looks at games that were previously announced but not given many details, like Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
