A crew of kind-hearted Oklahoma firefighters finished mowing a man’s lawn after he fell ill while doing yard work, according to authorities.
Oklahoma City firefighters recently responded to a medical call about a man who became sick while mowing his yard, the Oklahoma City Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post.
After caring for the ill man and sending him off in an ambulance, the smokeeaters noticed his lawn was only “half-finished.”
“We couldn’t leave it that way, so we finished the job,” the department wrote in a statement.
Videos shared by the department showed the uniformed firefighters nonchalantly mowing the man’s property in a gesture of kindness.
“Service does not always stop when the emergency is over,” the department said. “It was a simple act of kindness and a reminder that caring for our community goes beyond the call.”
Several residents flooded the comment section to praise the firefighters for their courteous yard work.
“Love this! Our neighbor is an OKC firefighter and he is one of the best guys we’ve ever met. A great group of people and our city is lucky to have them!” one user said.
“This is an amazing act of kindness. Not required but because you guys care! Thank you so much,” another user wrote.
