Country music and The Grand Ole Opry go hand-in-hand — which is why the venue’s 100th anniversary is such a cause for celebration.
NBC’s Opry 100: A Live Celebration drew country icons from around the globe on Wednesday, March 19, to Nashville and the red carpet was on fire from start to finish. Amy Grant, Dustin Lynch and Scotty McCreery were among the first to arrive — and it only got hotter on the carpet from there.
Prior to the event, host Blake Shelton gushed about being part of the Opry, which is a rite of passage for county artists. (The three-hour show includes performances from Opry members and fellow musicians who love the genre.)
“Becoming a member of the Opry is a highlight of my life and career, and 15 years later, I still get that same feeling of reverence and excitement every time I walk out on that stage,” Shelton said in a statement earlier this month. “The Grand Ole Opry has been connecting the country music family for 100 years, and I’m so proud to be part of this historic celebration.”
