A short clip showing a cat strolling confidently along a beachside fence has struck a chord with viewers, highlighting a simple but striking difference between cats and dogs.
Shared on Instagram March 30 under the username @nocas.world, the video captures a calm, almost-effortless moment as a leashed cat pads along the top of a fence while its owner walks beside.
Text overlaid on the clip reads, “Can’t do this with a dog,” immediately setting the tone for the comparison. In the caption, the creator adds: “We love dogs but walking a cat is a very unique experience!” The message resonated quickly, turning an everyday outing into a viral moment.
The cat, seen moving smoothly and casually above the sand, appears completely at ease with both the height and the leash. Rather than resisting or lagging behind, the feline seems to treat the fence as a natural pathway, drawing attention to behaviors many pet owners instantly recognize as distinctly catlike.
Speaking to Newsweek, the video’s creator, Kimbrell Kunz from Utah, shared more about the moment and the pet at the center of the clip.
Kunz said that the cat is still very young. “Our little kitty’s name is Noca and she is 6 months old! We’ve been harness/leash training her since she was 3 months.” That early training made it possible for moments like the one captured in the video to unfold naturally.
Kunz added that the fence walk itself was entirely the cat’s idea. “In the clip, we are walking her on a fence, which she climbed up on all by herself,” Kunz said. The choice to film and share the moment stemmed from a playful observation about feline behavior. “Cats prefer high vantage points so I decided to make a post teasing the fact that dogs typically don’t walk on fences like cats do!”
That light-hearted contrast is exactly what viewers seemed to enjoy. The video quickly gained traction on social media, surpassing over 33,200 views and collecting more than 2,700 likes. Comments and reactions focused on the cat’s balance, confidence, and the understated humor of the comparison.
One user, Wildfurrynoses, commented: “I think I’ll be the cat mom that’s afraid of him failing off.”
Tollerbluedesigns said: “Amazing. Just enjoying life and having an adventure as cats should.”
Gerald3_0 added: “No fear there, that’s for sure!!”
