Patrick Muldoon, the actor best known for his roles in Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place and Starship Troopers, died on Sunday at the age of 57.
Deadline Hollywood reported that Muldoon died following a heart attack, though no official announcement had been made on the actor’s X or Instagram accounts as of early Monday morning.
Muldoon was born in San Pedro, California, and was the first actor to portray Austin Reed on the daytime drama Days of Our Lives. His early credits included an appearance on Who’s the Boss?, and his later work ranged from television roles to films, including the 2024 movie Murder at Hollow Creek.
Outside of acting, Muldoon was also the lead singer of the band The Sleeping Masses. One of the group’s songs, “The Woman Is the Way,” appeared in the end credits of the 2009 film Powder Blue.
