The Truist Championship at Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club will begin with its first round on Thursday, but not at its original time.

With inclement weather forecast in the area, the tournament will now feature groups of three teeing off from both holes No. 1 and No. 10. The first tee times of the day will begin around 11 a.m. ET, according to a PGA Tour announcement on Wednesday.

“Due to impending inclement weather in Thursday’s forecast, tee times for the first and second round of the Truist Championship will be adjusted to approximately 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET in groups of three off Nos. 1 and 10,” the PGA Tour wrote on social media.

Tee times were originally scheduled to begin at 7:45 a.m. ET.

The Truist Championship field is headlined by Rory McIlroy, who’s playing in his first event since winning his second consecutive Masters title in April. The Northern Irishman has a rich history at Quail Hollow, winning the event on four different occasions.

McIlroy’s first career PGA Tour victory came at the Quail Hollow Championship in 2010. His most recent victory at the course came when he won the Truist Championship in 2024, beating Xander Schauffele by five strokes after carding a final-round 65.

McIlroy will be paired with World No. 4 golfer Matt Fitzpatrick for the first two rounds of the Truist Championship. Immediately following McIlroy’s win at the Masters, Fitzpatrick notched back-to-back wins at the RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic.
