A major police incident is under way after a man was shot on a busy inner-city street.
Emergency services were called to Cleveland Street in Surry Hills at about 8pm Friday after reports of a shooting.
A man has taken been taken to hospital, NSW Ambulance said.
Several police cars and ambulances were at the scene. Cleveland Street is closed between South Dowling Street and Elizabeth Street, with motorists urged to avoid the area.
