With his WWE contract reportedly set to expire in just a few days, Karrion Kross has addressed the rampant speculation surrounding his future. In a new interview on the Battleground podcast, Kross gave a cryptic but telling update on his and his wife Scarlett’s status with the company.

The discussion comes after a report from Fightful Select stated that Kross’s current WWE deal is set to expire in August. The report noted that as of a few weeks ago, the duo had not yet been approached about a new contract.

Karrion Kross Talks Life Is Fighting Memoir & WWE Contract Rumors

“I Don’t Think I Should Talk About Any of It”

When asked directly about the reports, Kross chose his words carefully. He did not confirm or deny the rumors, instead suggesting that his and Scarlett’s future is genuinely uncertain at this moment.

“I don’t think I should talk about any of it right now,” Kross stated (H/T to WrestlingNews.co). “But I am hoping that when the time is right, everyone will know what’s going on, including us.”

This response has only intensified the speculation among fans. It implies that as of the interview, no new deal had been signed.

A Career of Highs and Lows

Karrion Kross’s WWE journey has been a rollercoaster. He debuted in NXT as an unstoppable monster with a theatrical entrance alongside Scarlett, quickly becoming a dominant two-time NXT Champion. However, his initial main roster call-up in 2021 was a famous disaster, as he was stripped of his character and lost his debut match, which quickly killed his momentum.

After being released, he was brought back by the new creative regime led by Triple H in 2022 with his original, menacing character restored. While his second main roster run has been more successful, featuring high-profile feuds with stars like Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles, he has yet to recapture the main event aura he had in NXT.

A Commitment to The Fans

Despite the uncertainty, Kross was clear about his commitment to the audience. He referenced the recent “We Want Kross” social media movement, which was a major factor in his increased television time and new merchandise.

“I love WWE. I love the WWE Universe, and I have every intention of giving people what they want, if I’m allowed to,” he declared. “And if I’m not, I’m still going to find a way to give them what they want.” This statement serves as both a promise to his fans and a savvy public negotiation tactic as the clock ticks down on his current contract.
