Reports of gunshots south-west of Brisbane prompted an emergency zone declaration from police on Monday evening, with motorists warned to remain away from the area and locals told to stay indoors.
Officers were called to Ipswich Boonah Road, in Purga, about 4.35pm after reports of gunshots.

They established the exclusion zone about an hour later, covering a rough rectangle that included Ipswich Boonah, Hughes, and Carmichael roads, and Eastfield Court, as well as properties within the area.
Police said no one appeared to be injured.
