Jen Shah is coming home for Christmas.

People broke the news on Friday, November 21, that the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum will be released from prison on December 10 after serving only two and a half years of her six-and-a-half-year sentence.

“Everyone’s very grateful for the BOP’s decision, especially because it means Jen will be able to reunite with her family for the holidays,” Shah’s manager, Chris Giovanni, said in a statement to the magazine. “It’s a gift she doesn’t take for granted.”

Giovanni shared that Shah, 52, is “in a really positive, hopeful place mentally” ahead of her release.

“She’s done a lot of reflecting and real growth during her time away, and is genuinely not the same woman as she was before. Her focus is on her family and building a healthier, more grounded life,” the statement continued. “She understands the seriousness of the mistakes she made and is excited to put this chapter behind her so that she can show everyone the woman she’s worked hard to become.”

The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment to People regarding Shah’s release plans.

Shah was arrested in March 2021 alongside then-assistant Stuart Smith for their role in a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme involving multiple victims over the age of 55. Initially, Shah denied her involvement, pleading not guilty to the charges.

The former Bravo star eventually pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022.

“In 2012 to March 2021 in the Southern District of New York and elsewhere I agreed with others to commit wire fraud,” Shah shared in a statement at the time. “I knew this was wrong. I knew many people were harmed and I’m so sorry.”

Us Weekly confirmed in January 2023 that Jen was sentenced to six and a half years in prison. She reported to the Bryan Prison Camp in Texas the following month.

Shah’s sentence has been reduced several times throughout her prison stay. Prior to the news that she would be released next month, Shah was expected to stay in prison until September 19, 2026.

Shah has been offering updates to fans through diary entries published via her website.

“Jen has been doing very well — working on her personal self and focused on her journey towards positive rehabilitation,” her rep shared in December 2024. “Jen is currently focused on her next holiday beauty showcase within FPC Bryan Prison and continues to send love to her family, fans and friends who continuously message her in support. She is thankful for everyone who continues to pray and uphold her in a positive light.”

Shah shared another journal entry this past May, confirming that she’s doing “shahmazing” behind bars.

“I am in great spirits and well,” Shah wrote at the time. “The consistent love and admiration from my supporters, my loving family, and my faith keeps me going as I make it through this rehabilitative journey of coming home soon.”
