YouTuber-turned-professional wrestler Logan Paul hasn’t been shy about his belief he can take any current or former NFL player in an exhibition boxing match.
Paul’s vendetta against the NFL began a few weeks ago when seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady questioned his athleticism compared to the top NFL players while playing flag football.
Brady called what Paul does in WWE cute, but stated football is real competition and that he had reservations the 30-year-old social media influencer could hang. Then days later, Brady escalated things, putting Paul on blast during a conversation with former teammate Rob Gronkowski, calling him the B-word.
Ever since those comments, Paul has been aggressively challenging Brady and any other NFL player he can find to a boxing match to prove his superior athleticism. He had a bout agreement with ex-Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, but Paul claimed the WWE wouldn’t let him fight because of his contract with the company.
Gronkowski was also among the players Paul called out — to which Gronk stated during an appearance on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams” that he would gladly accept the fight and make Paul regret it.
“If Logan Paul wants a piece of me, I’m down,” Gronkowski exclaimed. “Throw it down on the field [at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic]. I’ll whoop his [expletive].”
Things finally came to a head between the two stars on Thursday at a Fanatics Flag Football press event when the two started smack talking each other and eventually had to be separated by comedian Kevin Hart.
“I’m going to beat your [expletive], then I’m going to beat all your brothers’ [expletive],” Paul shouted.
Gronkowski shouted back at Paul before Hart stepped in, urging the two to “save it for the field.”
Video of the altercation went viral on social media, garnering millions of views across multiple accounts within hours. However, many stated the scuffle seemed like a work to promote the flag football game.
