The Seattle Seahawks were crowned Super Bowl LX champions on Sunday night.

As the Seahawks were on their way to a victory over the New England Patriots, their former franchise quarterback, Russell Wilson, took to social media to react to their win.

Clearly, the veteran quarterback is still loyal to the franchise that drafted him, and had him around for a large chunk of his career.

Wilson was selected 75th overall (3rd round) out of Wisconsin in 2012. He spent a decade of his career playing for the Seahawks. From his rookie year up until his age 33 season, Wilson was one of the most notable quarterbacks in the league.

While with the Seahawks, Wilson posted a 104-35-1 record as a starter. He completed 65 percent of his passes for over 37,000 yards. He tossed for 292 touchdowns and just 87 interceptions.

During his prime, Wilson was also a threat in the ground game, rushing for nearly 500 yards per season, and totaling over 20 touchdowns through rushing.

Prior to Sunday’s victory over the Patriots, the Seahawks last won the Super Bowl in 2013. That year, Wilson helped deliver the Lombardi Trophy to Seattle after throwing for three touchdowns and zero interceptions throughout the run.

In 2014, Wilson completed 72 percent of his passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns to help the Seahawks defeat the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Wilson and the Seahawks would return to the Super Bowl in the following year to take on the New England Patriots. Unfortunately, the Patriots won after Wilson and the Seahawks made an infamous mistake at the goal line, dialing up a pass play, which led to a game-losing interception.

Clearly, Wilson is happy to see his former team get their payback many years later. He may no longer be a member of the organization, but that’s his first NFL home, and the one he had the most impact in.

Since leaving the Seahawks, Wilson has had stints with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the New York Giants. He’ll hit the free agency market this offseason, with plans to continue playing in the right situation.
