A video showing the vastly different travel packing styles of two Indiana sisters has gone viral on TikTok.

Shared on July 18 by 19-year-old Paige (@paigetheenlightenedsage), the clip has drawn more than 11.2 million views. It humorously contrasts Paige’s methodical packing style with the more spontaneous approach of her younger sister, 18-year-old Sydney, as the traveling sisters prepared for a trip out west.

“We are both college students, living in Indiana. I am a Starbucks barista and a camp counselor. Sydney is a hostess and waitress at two different restaurants,” Paige, who did not share her last name, told Newsweek.

The video opens on a quiet, organized bedroom with a backpack and neck pillow neatly arranged beside a suitcase. Text over the image reads “Leaving at 6 a.m. tmw [tomorrow] morning,” signaling the calm readiness of the “Type A sibling.”

The video then cuts to a starkly different scene—a bedroom strewn with clothes, an open suitcase in the middle of the mess, and a frantic last-minute scramble—this is the “Type B sister.”

The viral moment comes as air travel continues to surge, with global demand up five percent in May compared to the same month last year, according to the International Air Transportation Association (IATA). “Air travel demand growth was uneven in May,” said Willie Walsh, IATA’s director general, in a June statement. “Globally, the industry reported 5 percent growth with Asia-Pacific taking the lead at 9.4 percent.” North America, in contrast, saw a 0.5 percent dip, including a 1.7 percent decline in U.S. domestic travel.

Still, millions of travelers—whether Type A or Type B—are hitting the skies and as Paige and Sydney’s video shows, there’s more than one way to get ready for the trip.

“I am the type A sister, and she is the type B,” Paige told Newsweek. “We have very different personalities. We’ve travelled together many times. Although our different approaches to life have caused arguments/fights, we’ve learned to accept each other for who we are. We are total opposites, but it’s what balances us out.”

Their trip took them across the American West, starting with hikes in Yellowstone National Park, then south to Jackson in Wyoming and the Grand Tetons, and ending in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo and a Cody Johnson concert.

“We each do things our own way, but ultimately, we were both ready to go with our parents at 6 a.m. the next morning,” Paige said. “We definitely share our unique sense of humor, which makes our vacations extremely entertaining.”

That shared sense of humor fueled the creation of the viral video. “When I walked into her room that night and saw everything scattered across her room, it totally stressed me out,” Paige said. “But we laughed about it, agreed to make it into a funny TikTok, and here we are.”
