Sophie Turner is not here for the single-parent shamers.

“Bucket hats & beers. That’ll do me. Thank you @levis,” Turner, 29, wrote via Instagram earlier this week, sharing footage featuring her and a friend attending the Oasis concert at London’s Wembley Stadium.

One social media user, however, questioned Turner’s decision to have a girls’ night when she’s also a mother.

“Lmfao I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,” the individual wrote in the comments section on Thursday, August 7.

Turner quickly shot back a response, writing, “Ah, I’m so sorry, sometimes, I forget some people can’t think for themselves.”

She added, “So, get this … There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”

Turner shares daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, with ex-husband Joe Jonas, to whom she was married from 2019 to 2023. Jonas, 35, filed for divorce in September 2023, which kickstarted a lengthy and messy custody battle.

While Turner is an England native and petitioned to be able to travel across the pond with her kids, Jonas hails from New Jersey and wanted to keep the kids nearby. Turner and Jonas ultimately agreed to share custody and allow the kids to travel between the two countries on an equal basis.

“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK,” the now-exes said in a statement to Us Weekly in October 2023. “We look forward to being great coparents.”

Turner has since been candid about her life as a single parent — and dealing with the onslaught of mom-shaming comments.

“There’s so much shame that comes with motherhood,” Turner told The Times of London in a September 2024 profile. “You go to work, you’re shamed. If you don’t go to work, you’re shamed.”

That year, Turner briefly relocated to Spain to film ITV’s Joan. She further told the British newspaper that, at times, she felt so lonely that she asked a friend to move in temporarily.

“She ended up staying with me at mine because I didn’t want to be alone,” Turner recalled. “The crew really held me through it, and I didn’t ever come home alone at the end of the day.”

Days later, Turner noted in a social media message that she was “very fortunate” to have “a lot of help around” her to raise her daughters.

“[It] is not the case for a lot of people,” she said. “I applaud all single mothers doing it alone.”
