George-Soros-backed Norfolk, Va., District Attorney Ramin Fatehi has sparked outrage for blaming the Old Dominion University shooting on pro-gun-rights lawmakers and judges.
Fatehi claimed just hours after Thursday’s shooting that gun-rights supporters in office “care more about guns than they care about 6-year-old children.”
The city’s Commonwealth Attorney — ranting after ISIS-inspired gunman Mohamed Bailor Jalloh opened fire at the Norfolk college, killing an ROTC instructor –.then defiantly dug his feet in when pressed by Fox News on Friday about his comments, claiming he was speaking the “truth.”
“I absolutely stand by what I said. It is the truth, no matter how much the gun lobby wants to deny it,” Fatehi stressed, despite authorities saying the gunman was a radical extremist who shouted “Allahu Akbar” when he started shooting.
“No matter the ideology of an attacker, that attacker is more dangerous with a gun than without one,” Fatehi said.
The DA took aim at pro-gun members of Congress and judges after ex-National Guard member Jalloh busted into a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps classroom at the Virginia college and started shooting.
Jalloh — who had previously been released from prison early after helping to plot a terror attack on the US — shot dead retired military officer Lt. Col. Brandon Shah before ROTC students pounced on the gunman and killed him. Two other people were hurt in the terrifying incident, officials said.
“Until there is the political will to break the spell of the cult of gun absolutism, you will see more incidents like this,” Fatehi told reporters at a press conference. So if you are looking for somebody to blame, don’t look at anybody up here.
“Look at our lawmakers who don’t have the courage to implement sensible gun control measures. Look to a supreme court that enables them and do something about it. That is the lesson.”
Two of Fatehi’s top donors include the Soros-subsidized Justice and Public Safety PAC and Democracy PAC — which dished out more than $650,000 to his campaign fund between 2021 and 2025, according to Fox News.
Other lefty prosecutors backed by the same organizations supported by the billionaire Soros include ousted San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin, former Chicago DA Kim Foxx and former Los Angeles DA George Gascon, Fox reported, citing the Capital Research Center.
Fatehi’s comments triggered gun supporters online.
“I really try not to cuss here, but Fatehi can f–k right off with this statement,” said Cam Edwards, editor for BearingArms news website, on X.
The National Association for Gun Rights said, “Known ISIS supporter who was convicted of providing material support to terrorists is let loose, shoots two at school.”
Kostas Moros, director of Legal Research and Education at the Second Amendment Foundation, wrote, “So the government releases a treasonous radical terrorist, and its gun owners’ fault and we need to be disarmed.
“Makes sense.”
Another user raged, “A student had to take out an ISIS mass shooter with a KNIFE and these dorks have the audacity to blame gun laws.
“You can’t make this sh-t up.”
