Reality television star Spencer Pratt has released a television ad promoting his run for Los Angeles mayor that quickly went viral on social media.

Pratt’s chances of winning the race have risen past incumbent mayor Karen Bass on Polymarket in recent days, where he now has a 20 percent chance while Bass has 19 percent. But Democratic candidate Nithya Raman, a member of the Los Angeles City Council, is leading, with a 58 percent chance on the prediction market.

Pratt, who rose to fame alongside his wife Heidi Montag on The Hills, announced he was running for mayor in January. He has emerged as a vocal critic of Governor Gavin Newsom and Bass, both Democrats, after losing his home in the deadly Palisades wildfire last year. But as a Republican, he faces a long shot of winning in heavily Democratic Los Angeles.

Pratt shared the advertisement for his mayoral bid on X on Wednesday, where it has since racked up more than six million views.

The ad begins with Pratt pointing to mansions that he says are where Bass and Raman live.

“They don’t have to live in the mess they’ve created— where you live,” he says.

“This is where I live,” Pratt adds, while standing outside a mobile home. “They let my home burn down. I know what the consequences of failed leadership are. That’s why I’m running for mayor, for my sons and the rest of us Angelenos that want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city.”

This is a developing story. More to follow.
