Summer House star Jesse Solomon acknowledged that he didn’t handle things well with Ciara Miller after asking her ex West Wilson for the green light to make a move.
“He wasn’t totally cool with it, so I backed off,” Jesse, 32, said during the Monday, April 6, episode of Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast. “Obviously, I regret how I handled that situation. I think I kind of let my feelings get the best of me. I should’ve had a conversation with Ciara.”
“If I was going to have a conversation with West, it should have been a more serious conversation,” he added. “Not a flippant makeout ask in front of other people. Overall, I ended up hurting both of my friends, and I really thought I was doing the right thing at the time.”
Drama popped off between Jesse and Ciara, 30, after he nonchalantly asked West, 31, for permission to make out with Ciara.
“I think it’s just like we’ve always had a good friendship, and, uh, like, she’s hot,” he told West about their connection during episode 4 of season 10, which aired on February 24. “Just, like, in case we got drunk and made out, I didn’t wanna, like …”
West was clearly taken aback by the request, replying, “I mean, on paper, you asked your boy if you can make out with his ex,” he elaborated. “But I think most people in my position would, like, call you a weirdo or a d***head for asking me.”
After Ciara heard about the conversation and expressed how it upset her, he apologized for making her “feel like an object” when she has been open about looking for a more serious relationship at this point in her life. “The only person that can give you permission is me. Both of these boys make me f***in’ sick, honestly,” she said on the show.
Jesse told Gia, 25, that he apologized to Ciara on more than one occasion. “When you have love for each other, you can get past these things,” he added.
While revealing where he stands with West, he confirmed they are still close friends. “Such a good guy,” Jesse shared. “We’re very different, but we both get along really well.”
“He was there for me during hard times and I’ve been there for him,” he added, noting, “Not everything gets shown [on TV].”
West, for his part, is now in the middle of his own love triangle with Summer House costar Amanda Batula in the wake of her split from estranged husband Kyle Cooke. Amanda, 34, and West confirmed their budding romance in a joint statement via Instagram on March 31.
“We’ve both been through a lot together and we both, kind of like, have our own lanes. I don’t feel a competitive energy to our relationship,” Jesse continued of West. “He’s been so supportive of my music stuff and I really appreciate that, so it’s been good. I’m lucky to have him.”
Jesse also gushed about his bond with Ciara on the Monday episode of Jason Tartick’s “Trading Secrets” podcast, praising her as a “good friend” who is “mature for her age.”
He added, “She keeps me in check.”
