Several one-win NFL teams in Week 6 have coaches who could be headed toward the hot seat after slow starts to the season. Brian Daboll with the New York Giants, Kevin Stefanski with the Cleveland Browns and Brian Callahan with the Tennessee Titans have underperformed through the first five weeks.

The Baltimore Ravens are a surprise one-win team before their Week 6 contest against the Los Angeles Rams. However, injuries have been the story of the Ravens this fall, and Lamar Jackson’s hamstring injury in Week 4 made Baltimore’s chances to make the postseason feel like a long shot.

The Ravens had issues even when Jackson was healthy, with losses to playoff-caliber teams in the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills.
Mike Jones of The Athletic put Ravens head coach John Harbaugh on his list of coaches who could be on the hot seat in Week 6. Jones believes Baltimore and Harbaugh could agree to move on after the season.
“There’s always a surprise breakup,” Jones wrote. “Although Harbaugh has a strong record in his 17 previous campaigns, 12 seasons have passed since he won a Super Bowl, and painful playoff exits have become a common theme. There’s something very off with this Ravens team.
“Even before this rash of injuries, their defense had shown major signs of regression, and a usually reliable offensive line has really struggled. If the Ravens can’t recover from this 1-4 start, could Baltimore brass and Harbaugh mutually agree that it’s time for a change?”
Harbaugh, 63, is 173-108 with the Ravens since he was named a head coach in 2008. He’s led Baltimore to six AFC North championships, winning two consecutive division titles. Harbaugh won Super Bowl XLVII in the 2012 season.
Something does feel off with this team, but it’ll be curious to see if the front office wants to make a drastic and risky change to remove a coach who has been a consistent, proven winner in the league. Those coaches are hard to replace.
