Prepare to fall in love with this relationship update surrounding Sweethearts stars Miranda and Quinn.
More than two years after the then-high school seniors signed up for the Amazon Prime reality show, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm that the couple are still together and stronger than ever.
“We’re sophomores at University of South Carolina. We both go here and today, we hang out all the time,” Miranda exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Friday, February 28. “That’s my best friend. When I get sad, that’s who I want to call. When I’m lazy, I’m like, ‘Go grab food and come over here and let’s watch a show.’ It’s just the person I want to be around.”
As Quinn majors in finance and accounting and Miranda focuses on fashion merchandising, class schedules and homework can make connecting a bit challenging. But after building such a strong friendship in high school, Quinn has a theory as to why his relationship with Miranda continues to succeed.
“Obviously going into college, it’s a hard transition,” he explained to Us. “I think both of us just really did our best to make sure we were both comfortable making sure we were both OK starting college and going through that whole process — all these new classes, meeting all these new people. I think we both did really well at communicating with each other and just voicing our problems, voicing our opinions, working things out. It worked.”
After studying is over and classes are out of session, Quinn and Miranda enjoy watching Grey’s Anatomy and The Bachelor. With a college budget, going out to super nice dinners is a rarity. Instead, they love getting fondue at the local Melting Pot.
When asked to share a young celebrity couple they ship, Miranda was quick to praise Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios.
“I think that they’re so fun and young, and it’s nice to see people at a younger age have their relationship put onto social media because then we can relate to it,” she said. “I think I really like them.”
As for the reaction to Sweethearts — a show that follows six teenage couples in Charleston, South Carolina, as they navigate the end of high school and their final summer together as a couple before going to college — both Miranda and Quinn are grateful they listened to their gut and stayed together.
“Trust your judgment and make sure it’s your decision,” Quinn said when asked what high school couples should do after graduation. “There were so many influences we’ve had — friends, family, whatever — if you do feel like it’s a long-term relationship, then go for it. There’s no reason not to try.”
Miranda added, “If you truly love that person, then it can work. There’s so much growing you do as a person in college, but if there’s love, there’s love. You can’t escape that.”
Sweethearts (produced by Kinetic Content) is streaming now on Amazon Prime.
