Taylor Swift has given a major update on her touring plans. During an interview with Greg James on BBC Radio 1, James asked Swift if she had the itch for another tour.
“No,” the pop superstar replied, adding, “I’m just going to be really honest with you.”
Why It Matters
Swift wrapped her record-breaking Eras Tour in December of 2024. Named after the different stages of her career, each show spanned three and a half hours. The tour began in March of 2023 and saw Swift perform 149 shows across five continents.
On October 3, Swift released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which offered a fresh perspective on fame and the singer’s own life.
In a message to fans released in tandem with the album, the 14-time Grammy Award winner said, “I can’t tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right.”
What To Know
James, who is a longtime friend of Swift’s and has regularly interviewed her since the beginning of her career, asked her about both her Era’s tour, and her upcoming tour plans.
“Have you got the itch for another something soon?” James asked, to which Swift emphatically replied, “No.”
She continued, adding, “I am so tired, like when I think about doing it again, because I would want to do it really, really well again.”
Swift also spoke about the Eras Tour and said, “I think about it every day,” adding, “I had so much fun on that tour.”
She went on, describing it as “Obviously the most exhausting challenge ever physically,” but said, “I’ll never forget seeing what I saw. I could see everyone from the stage.”
“I could see their experience and their joy, and that fed me, like, that fueled me even when I was exhausted and tired.”
The account @tswifterastour shared a clip of the interview on X, and Swifties quickly headed to the replies to react to the news.
